Looking toward the 2009 reunion season and beyond Military Locator & Reunion Service, Inc continues to take a proactive role in helping our clients select their reunion destinations. One of the ways is to encourage selected CVB’s to promote their city by listing their it as a “Value Destination” on the ML & RS, Inc website. The total number of persons that can see what your city has to offer is limited only by the number of people who view the website. ML & RS, Inc alone has a base of no less than 45,000 potential viewers. Add all the other reunion groups’ members that are searching for a reunion site and the number of potential viewers is unlimited. It is so simple and cost effective that one has to wonder why more CVBs are not doing it. This strategy is intended to supplement, not replace any existing programs you are currently using; or it can be an excellent beginning if you have no program in place. The cities shown at the left had at least one of our reunion groups express an interest. Those cities that do not wish to participate in the new program will be removed from the list. Even though we do anticipate the campaign to bring reunions to your area, we are realistic enough to recognize that because of the way many groups rotate between the west, mid-continent, and east, not every group is going to select your city in 2008 or 2009. Think in long range terms. Therefore, it is only reasonable for us to list more than one “Value Destination” Even though the bulk of our reunions are in April and May then in September and October, there are lesser numbers in June, July and November it stands to reason your listing should appear year-round, and our program is designed that way. Only a few of our client groups have selected their fall 2008 destination, so the competition is open. The remaining groups will select their 2009 destinations at their spring 2008 reunion.
